1)  Drag Race Pro - New Features  We've added some new features to the Drag Race Analyzer Pro - Team Engineer program.  With advances in engine and ignition controls, drivers can change the engine power at various times during the run.  Typically this is to reduce power at the launch.  We've added 2 new features to allow you to do this:
  1. Adjust the power in each gear.  Some users wanted to be able to reduce or increase the engine power curve by a certain factor.  They were simulating controllers which changed the turbocharger boost level in each gear, typically done with FWD cars.
  2. Adjust the spark retard versus time from launch.  This simulates the function of the MSD Grid (tm) with Launch Retard.  The Grid lets you program in a curve of spark retard values from the start of launch, very much like the Drag Race Pro's screen below.  This prevents tire spin to optimize the launch.  As shown in the screen, there is a "Find 'Optimum' Spark Table' where the program can automatically find the best spark retard table based on the user's inputs.  This is a very handy, time saving feature for tuning your MSD Grid (tm).

2)  PRI Trade Show, Indianapolis, Coming in December   We're also exhibiting at the Best and Biggest racing products trade show in the world, the Performance Racing Industry trade show, now back in Indianapolis.  We're in booth 5512, and the dates are Dec 12-14.  Be sure to register to attend ahead of time.

to visit the PRI Trade Show home page for more info and to arrange to attend the show.

3) New Inexpensive Optical RPM Sensor   We've released a new, less expensive reflective RPM sensor, part # DT3-RPMR for $55.  It's light weight and low power makes it a good choice for our Blowby Logger, or smaller RC (radio controlled vehicle engine) dynos, or most any other application.  If you want to have it trigger on something sticking out from the rotating wheel or shaft, it can be positioned up to .75" away.  If you want it to trigger on a color change (black/white), you must position it within 0.1" of the wheel.

4)  TDK Motorsports Website   Tom Krause was one of our first customers to add our DataMite to his inertia dyno.  Our DataMite software had features to measure torque and HP of vehicles knowing their weight, aerodynamic drag, etc and doing acceleration testing.  So, it was easily adapted to inertia dynos.  Tom had good luck and told everyone via his TDK Motorsports website.  Recently Tom retired from racing to explore new ventures.  We've kept his site "alive" here so others can benefit from all Tom's knowledge and experience.  If you're thinking about building an inertia dyno, check out our copy of the TDK Motorsports website.
