1)  Trade Shows Coming Up in Indy and Orlando  You still have time to register for attending some of the Motorsports trade shows coming up in early December.  This year we're doing 2 trade shows again, the PRI show in Orlando and the IMIS show in Indianapolis.  This is where we display our very newest products.

Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Trade Show, Dec 1-3  This is known as the worlds largest "hardcore" motorsports trade show, the PRI show in Orlando, Florida. We'll be in booth 5578, part of SuperFlow's "Test World".  Stop by and see what new things we have for 2011. You must make reservations to attend, so call PRI at 949-499-5413 in California to make them.

International Motorsports Industry Show (IMIS) Trade Show Dec 8-10  This will be our second year for attending, and we're in Booth 2141, in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Check out their website at www.imis-indy.com or call 317-429-1004 to register for attending this show.

2)  New, FREE "On-Line" Calculators  We've opened up a new section on our website of various FREE "On-Line" Calculators.  They let you perform several engine and performance related calculations without having to download anything to your computer.  In addition to doing calculations, they let you:

Use various combinations of English or Metric Units
Make professional looking printouts
Email professional looking forms to your customers, friends or yourself

Right now they include the following calculations:

Engine Displacement from Bore, Stroke, etc.
Find Bore for a particular Engine Displacement and Stroke
Find Stroke for a particular Engine Displacement and Bore
Find the Power for a particular 1/4 mile or 1/8 mile Drag Race finish speed
Calculate Port Flow Efficiency to see how good some particular head flow data is for that size valve, test pressure, etc.
Calculate Supercharger Boost for a particular positive displacement supercharger on a particular engine size, taking into account volumetric efficiencies and barometric pressure

to link to our Index Page for these calculators to try them.  We'd appreciate any feedback you have.  We're also interested in your suggestions for new, simple "on-line" calculators.  You could email us at this link:  feedback@performancetrends.com

3)  New, Bigger DataMite 4 Shipping  We're taking orders and shipping our new, larger DataMite 4 data logger, which has these features:

4 RPM (frequency) channels (1 more than DataMite III)
10 possible thermocouple channels (6 more than DataMite III)
12 dedicated user definable, analog channels
2 possible weather channels (which, if used, do not reduce the number of analog channels, as was the case with DataMite III)
1 box temperature channel
1 power voltage channel
3 axis accelerometer
3 GPS channels (latitude, longitude and speed)
4 digital inputs channels (not available with DataMite III)
2 digital outputs (for future firmware updates *, like rev limiter or oil pressure cutoff, shift light, etc) (was not available with DataMite III)
2 analog outputs (for future firmware updates *, like controlling the dyno, throttle, etc) (was not available with DataMite III)

* At this time, we can not take advantage of these output channels.  This will require development time and we're not sure when this will happen.  When it does happen, you would have to send back your DataMite 4 to have it reprogrammed to use these features.

input/output connectors, and new location for Memory Card

If you've been holding off buying a DataMite III because you needed more channels, especially something like 8 EGTs, the DataMite 4 is for you.  We can inexpensively offer you 8 EGTs with a couple of thermocouple channels left over in a very compact, rugged package.  And you have lots of additional analog and RPM channels left over.

Let us know your application (dyno, drag racing, circle track, or road racing), what you want to record, and we'll get you a quote.  Call 248-473-9230 or email us at tech@performancetrends.com

4)  Some 'Bug Fixes' for Engine Analyzer v3.4  Well as usually happens when you fix something, the unintended consequences is something else can pop up.  It's like a programmer's version of "whack a mole".  We fixed some things in v3.4 A.015, which introduces a problem with saving files, so we quickly released v3.4 A.016.  There have been other additions we have made from the original v3.4 A.001, like other minor "bug fixes", added a few new engine files, some minor new features, etc.

If you own Engine Analyzer v3.4, either the Standard or Plus versions, do the following for this FREE update:

In your Engine Analyzer program, click on Help (at the top of the main screen), and then select About Engine Analyzer.  What is the complete version number (written in blue), something like v3.4 A.016 ?  If it is v3.4 A.015 you should definitely update to the latest on the website.  If you have something with a lower number, then updating may not be worth the hassle of possibly needing a new unlock code.

to see Readme.doc file showing what the latest changes are for the Engine Analyzer.

to download the latest version of Engine Analyzer v3.4 A.016.  This is not critical, but when asked, select to do a Refresh installation instead of a Complete (typical) installation.
