1) Port Flow Analyzer v3.5C We released the update Port Flow Analyzer v3.5C back in 2018. But since then we've still been adding new features. Well, now we consider the program done; no more major features to be added. And we have also updated the user manual to describe all the new features in 3.5C. We've also updated the latest installer on our website to install the latest v3.5 C.019. Some of the new, updated features include:
- There is now an option under Velocity in the Recording screen for producing different pitch sounds for the port velocity. This way you can listen to the port velocity change as you move your pitot tube or Electronic Velocity Probe in the port. Now you can concentrate on exactly where the probe is and hear if that area has high or low velocity. Head Porter Version only.
- Added option in FlowCom or Electronics screen to allow displaying of the Actual CFM (not corrected for test pressure). If you request "Show Actual CFM", the Corrected CFM is displayed in a slightly smaller font, and the Actual CFM (not corrected for test pressure) is displayed in an even smaller font below it. Pro and Head Porter version only.
- You can now include a graph or "live data" on the Recording Screen to track trends in several variables during testing. Head Porter Version only.
- For our EZ Flow systems, there is a new feature letting you add a special "Low Flow" sensor. This lets you measure very low flows to check for leakage or for measuring flows on very small components or at very low valve lifts. Head Porter Version only.
- Under 'File', then 'Save As' there are new options to see other files in each folder, then choose a name from the folder to make it easy to modify a new name based on a previously used name. There is also a new "Add New" button to easily add a new folder name.
- Under 'File', then 'Save As' there is a new "Edit Many Tests" button. This allows you to identify many tests, by using the Ctrl key when clicking on a test, or clicking on a test, then hold the shift key to click on another test and identify all the tests in between. Then you can choose to Delete these tests (actually send to recycle bin), or copy or move these tests to a different folder. If you choose "Move" they are removed from the current folder. Pro and Header Porter versions only.
- There is a new Edit option of Combine Tests. It lets you combine 2 or more tests into 1. Header Porter versions only.
- The program now has several enhancements for automatically emailing files, reports and graphs. Many of these are required to work with newer OSs, like Win 7 and Win 10. Pro and Header Porter versions only.
- After making a report, the File option for creating an ASCII text file has a new option. It is for making a .csv file which is compatible with Microsoft Excel.

If you already own v3.5C, this is a free update, as are all v3.5C enhancements and bug fixes. Just download and install the latest v3.5C from our website right over the top of your existing version If you have Win 10, restart your computer and go directly to link below. Win 10 may not always allow you to update your program if you have run the program since you last restarted your computer.

This is not critical, but when asked, select to do a Refresh installation instead of a Complete (typical) installation. This will keep all your settings and unlock info. Click on Help (at the top of the main screen), and then select About... The new version number (written in blue) should now be 3.5 C.019 or later.

2) Quick Cam Checker LS Brackets We have just developed brackets for our Quick Cam Checker to fit the GM LS1 "Cathedral Port" heads and the GM LS3 Rectangular Port heads, part numbers QCC-CMLS1 and QCC-CMLS3. If you need to test both motors, you can purchase either bracket assembly and just purchase a mounting plate for the other style head and save siginificant cost.
This is in addition to the current brackets for the 602 and 604 GM Crate Motors.

4) Featured Product: Rotating Inertia Calculator We all know that reducing vehicle weight improves performance in most any type of racing. However, not everyone knows that removing weight from rotating components has a bigger payback than removing weight from a non-rotating part. That is because you not only have to accelerate a rotating component down the track (linear acceleration), you also need to get the rotating component to spin faster (rotational acceleration). Several factors affect the size of this "payback", including tire size, gear ratios, where the component is located, diameter of the component, etc.
The Rotating Inertia Calculator lets you estimate all these effects by calculating the "Effective Weight". Your vehicle may weight 3300 lbs on a scale, but with the added rotating inertia effects in 1st gear, it's effective weight could be more like 3844 lbs. In 2nd gear this may drop to 3618 lbs. But in all cases, the rotating inertia effect makes a vehicle heavier than the scale says.
