1)  DataMite Dyno Throttle Control  We've added 2 throttle controllers to our list of Dyno DataMite accessories, an Electronic and Mechanical option.

Our Electronic Throttle Control (part # DT4-THC) allows for the controller to be located most any distance from your dyno console.  The throttle control knob comes in its own enclosure or can be wired into your dyno console.

The controller can be easily programmed for setting the closed position and the wide open position.  This makes it easy to set up for each new engine, so you do not risk bending throttle linkages but ensure you are opening the throttle completely.

Our Mechanical Throttle Control cable (part # DT4-MTC) allows manual throttle control via a 15 ft cable.  15 ft extension kits are available for total length of 30 ft, part # DT4-MTCE.

2) Compression Ratio Calculator - Featured Product  If you are most any type of engine builder, our Compression Ratio Calculator is a great addition to your toolbox.  It calculates compression ratio with as few inputs as possible, or by taking most all details into account, and something in between.  It also calculates and checks other critical engine specs like deck height "stack up" for piston compression height, rod length, etc.  Then it has more advanced Plus and Pro versions with even more features.

The Compression Ratio Calculator will make sure you don't make simple math errors, and provide a professional printout for your customers.  The Plus and Pro version lets you include your company logo (a jpg file) on your printouts.  And it can link up to our Engine Build Log Book or our Engine Analyzer Pro Enterprise Edition software for organizing the compression ratio inputs for either of these two programs.  for info on how the Engine Analyzer Pro "talks" to the Compression Ratio Calculator, Figures A77 through A80, pages 295-298.

The program can also answer more complicated questions like:

  • What's the piston dish volume for a tapered .200" dish vs a .220" dish with radiused edges, and what's the difference in compression ratio?  Pro version only.
  • How much should Dynamic Compression Ratio and Cranking Compression change for this engine build if I advance the cam 4 degrees?
  • What's the change in rod bolt stress by going from a 5.7" to 6.0" rod length at 6000 RPM?  at 7500 RPM?  Plus and Pro versions only.
  • What piston dish volume do I need to get a 10.00 compression ratio for this current engine build?
  • If I cc the piston top with the piston .750" down the bore, what's the dome volume?  Pro version only.
  • What's the change in chamber CCs and compression ratio if I sink the valves .010" farther into the head?  Pro version only.

These and thousands more questions can be answered by the Compression Ratio Calculator.
